Grandma and Aaliyah day

Tyler was very sick today and Liz needed to take him to the Doctor. As sad as I was that Tyler was sick, I was very happy that Aaliyah and I got some time to just hang out and have fun. Poor Tyler spent hours at the Dr. (and poor lizzy too). Tyler is feeling much better, and thankfully didn't have to stay in the hospital. So yeah for Tyler feeling better, and super yeah for precious time spent with Aaliyah!

She can stare you down when she wants, but she has the best smile ever

I love it when she makes this face!

Okay I'm a spaz and forgot to rotate this one, tilt your head to the side

Stuff I read in April

I got a little busy and fell a little behind on my goal for April. I should be able to make up for it this month. May is super busy but I am not working as much, so I want to read more.
I read "The Appeal" by John Grisham. I don't always need a flowery happy ending, but I don't want to read a whole book only to get to the end and find out that life always sucks and won't get any better. I wouldn't recommend this one (especially since I probably just ruined the end for you). I just really didn't like this book and its message at all.
I read "confessions of a shopaholic" and other than its slightly PG 13 rating for some bad language that you just couldn't see coming, I really enjoyed this book. I totally understood the main character and her convoluted logic. It also made me feel much better about my closet full of clothes and shoes. I would definitely recommend it, and you can borrow it because I bought it.
I read "Bridge to Terabithia". My main gripe with this book (other than another sucky ending)is that I read it out loud with students, and even though they are biblical swear words, it has a healthy smattering of cussing. The main character also says "lord" a lot, and although iffy as taking the name of the Lord in vain, just uncomfortable for the kids to say. I started editing out the bad words as I read and the kids picked up on that and did the same.
I'm working on several books right now and should be caught up soon.

I'm a loser

Yes it's true. I lose everything! So why blog about it? Well, I've hit a new all time low and that is saying a lot. I've lost an expensive camera, 2 diamonds, most of my kids at one point or another, so what have I lost now? I have been looking for the lid to my crock pot for 3 days now. It's not like I was using it in another room, or left it in the car. It's not in the depths of my purse, or in the disaster that is my craft room. Where exactly does one lose a rather large lid that doesn't fit anything but the crock pot? I mostly lose things around the house because I think of some genius organizing solution and put stuff in places I can't remember. This is the lid to my crock pot though, I keep it with my crock pot.
Of all the things I've lost, I miss my mind the most.
